In second grade we continued built upon the idea of a portrait, but changed it slightly to make it cubist. Pablo Picasso was the most famous cubist artist, taking pieces of his subject, breaking them apart, and placing them back together in unusual ways. Students created their cubist portraits with white pencil, painted over the lines with black paint and glue, and once they were dry colored with in with colored pencil.
